Tonight, December 17, 2019, I received an email pretending from Metrobank saying that they detected an unauthorized transaction on my credit card.
It says that someone from Bulacan purchased an Apple iPhone 6 worth P11,999 using my Metrobank credit card last December 16,2019. The email asks me to update my credit information to avoid having my credit card blocked.
If I had a credit card from Metrobank I would be shocked and might fall into this sophisticated email.
The message is sent through a .docx document and includes a link to a phishing site that will collect your username and password if in case you will update your information.
Here is the full screenshot of the email fraud:
I followed the given link and typed some information and confirmed that this is really a phishing site.
I made this blog to warn everyone not to fall prey on this email fraud that looks very legitimate.
